In the words of Tracey Unwin: I'm a self taught artist, working mainly in acrylics and with a passion for collage techniques. Most of my artworks are concerned with the colours, light and contrasts found in the natural world, although cities and architecture also feature heavily. Above all I like to remain experimental and continue to learn by working in new styles and with a variety of subject matters. I feel that my absence of formal training has allowed a great degree of freedom in my work. With a mainly scientific/academic background I only began painting in earnest around seven years ago, discovering a way of expressing creativity which, in childhood, I had achieved predominantly through writing. Despite my relatively young art career I have sold a large number of paintings and gained several loyal customers, who are attracted by the vibrancy, freedom and variety I try to bestow on my art. I regularly work on commissioned pieces. Currently my time is divided between my conservation and art careers, with the former generally inspiring the latter. In the last couple of years I have began exhibiting my work in a range of locations on a regular basis. This has proved very successful, with several sales and a trophy awarded to my painting 'Tidal' for 'Best Picture'. In terms of other artists I'm inspired by members of the 'Hudson River School' - 18th century American landscape painters such as Frederic Edwin Church and Albert Bierstadt.. Svetoslav Stoyanov’s oil paintings are exquisite manifestations of a gifted mind that are formed by surrealist compositions able to transform the subjects into entirely novel and unexpected entities capable of surprising and moving an observer. Stoyanov beautifully captures the passing of time and the sense of burgeoning new horizons by depicting a wide range of symbols throughout his work. Svetoslav possesses an artistic vision and imagination that goes beyond the usual confines of the human mind that enables him to uniquely interpret his surroundings. Stoyanov is tremendously imaginative and takes inspiration from an infinite array of stimuli. It is evident throughout Stoyanov’s work that he is incredibly observant and analytical of his surroundings and this clearly impacts his artistic style and approach. Svetoslav has a great passion for his art and a powerfully strong connection with his imagination and subconscious mind that is beautifully communicated in his innovative and unique creations that serve as a testament to his immense talent.” Timothy Warrington International Confederation of Art Critics-2018.
